Iran installs 50 new CNG stations

Iran to install 50 new CNG stations next week while the country's CNG stations reach 2,000 stands by the end of the current solar year (started on March20, 2011), Pananews reported, quoting Managing Director of CNG installation plans Shahram Asadpour.

"The National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company launches 50 new CNG stations while a total of 452 CNG stations operated during the last solar year," he said.

Currently the National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company provides 17 million cubic meters of natural gas to CNG stations.

The CNG station's production capacity can increase to 34 million cubic meters per day while the construction of new CNG stations requires a $47 million investment.
