Iran to reduce power consumption

Iranian power consumption will be reduced by 30 percent through removing subsidies, the Mehr news agency reported, quoting Energy Minister Majid Namjou as saying.
"Electricity consumption has reduced by 10 percent and will reduces by 30 percent by cutting subsides," he said.

The Iranian government cut energy and commodity subsides in December 2010.
Iran increased electricity production by 4.964 mega watts during the last solar year.
The electricity waste rate reduced by 15 percent while the launch of new power plant in Shahroud with 4,000 mega watts annual production capacity would enable the country to export 1,000 mega watt electricity.
