The Geophysics and Geology Office of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has completed drilling of geological-engineering wells under the Sangachal oil terminal expansion project, the Office reported.
Drilling was carried with the drilling rig "Kamaz LBU-50" under a contract signed with Azeri-Fugro.
The Sangachal oil terminal was constructed to ensure transportation of oil and gas produced in the framework of a project to develop the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil and gas fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The terminal transports the crude oil
produced from the ACG via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Supsa pipeline and by rail.
