Shimal power plant in Azerbaijan generated over 1.212 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first half-year compared to the projected about 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours, "Azerenergy" (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) said.
In June the power plant generated about 149.7 million kilowatt-hours or 700,000 million kilowatt-hours more than the projected figure.
A work schedule has been drawn up to prepare for the autumn-winter season, the necessary spare parts for repair of the enterprise have been purchased, which will begin in late August.
It is envisaged to inspect gas turbine unit of 400-MW power unit and a generator. To this end a contract has been signed with generator manufacturer Alstom.
Repair work was conducted on pumps, gas heater, gas scrubber and gas lines to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the second quarter.
In parallel, the site was prepared for the construction of the second 400-MW unit.
