Azerigaz of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) takes serious measures to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to the population. The company is aimed toward gas infrastructure modernization and application of modern technology.
An e-database of information required for planning, calculating, and centralizing a management system of underground and surface pipelines is being established using ArcGİS software, based on a project to reconstruct the gas supply system of Baku and Absheron, SOCAR reported. Work in this direction has already been completed in Khatai, Surakhani, Hazar, Nizami, Narimanov, and the Nasimi districts.
Work is underway in the Yasamal district of Baku. A digital map of each district is created using the new system. With these maps, the company carries out a vectorization of the territory's state, interior layouts, determines the address and characteristics of objects located in the area, notes equipment, construction facilities and installation of gas transmission pipelines. Realizing these projects will allow for improvement of the existing distribution network, as well as analyzing the technological schemes on the basis of geographic data.
