SOCAR to increase gas daily pumped into underground gas storage facilities

As of August 10, the volume of gas pumped into underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan, is 1.35 billion cubic meters, a source in SOCAR said.

"Gas is being pumped into underground storage facilities," a source said. "More than 1.35 billion cubic meters of gas have been pumped since the beginning of the season."

A source said that as of August 9, daily volume of gas injection was about 7.8 million cubic meters. The amount will increase from today after gas from "Shah Deniz" field is obtained.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities - Garadagh and Kalmaz.

As SOCAR head Rovnag Abullayev said earlier, this year the company plans to pump 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities.
About 1.92 billion cubic meters were pumped out from the underground gas storage facilities last season.
