The gas production volume in Kazakhstan grew by 10.7 percent in January-August, 2011 compared to the same period of 2010, the Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency.
During the report period, the country produced more than 13 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The figure was 1.6 billion cubic meters in August.
According to the oil and gas production ministry, the country's gas production in 2010 amounted to 37.4 billion cubic meters, with an increase of 3.9 percent compared to 2009.
The country plans to increase gas production to 42 billion cubic meters in 2011, 42.5 billion cubic meters- 2012, 52.9 billion cubic meters- 2013, 55.8 billion cubic meters - 2014 and 59.3 billion cubic meters in 2015.
