Substitution of State Pipeline Company Botas by SOCAR in gas supplies to Greece is profitable for all three sides, a senior SOCAR representative said on Wednesday.
"At present, Greece is importing 750 million cubic meters of reexported Azerbaijani gas from Turkey," SOCAR representative said.
SOCAR has informed the Turkish side that it is ready to substitute Botas as a supplier of gas to Greece for a long time. It is profitable for all three sides, the source said.
He said that Greece is interested in getting gas directly from the supplier, while Turkey is interested to being free from the necessity of supplying gas at the same price at which it was from Azerbaijan.
In turn, the Azerbaijani side is interested in supplying gas to the EU even in terms of the price at which gas is supplied to Turkey.
SOCAR representatives did not disclose the price for gas at which Azerbaijan supplies Turkey and Turkey supplies Greece.
