Palmali signs contract for oil product transport

Palmali shipping company signed an agreement for a two year transport of oil products (until 2014) by river tankers and "river-sea" ships, from the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, the company said on Thursday.

The agreement envisages transportation of oil products produced at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery (included in "Yug Rusi" Group of Companies, Rostov region, and Russia) in the amount of about 3 million tons, annually. Supplies will be carried out from the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery's terminal in the Rostov-on-Don to a storage tanker in the raid transshipment area of the Kerch Strait.

This agreement is the third long-term contract of Palmali Group of Companies, signed with Russian oil product producers and exporters. Earlier, Palmalı received contracts for the transportation of oil products of NC "LUKOIL" (the contract was prolonged until 2020) and NC "RussNeft" (until 2021).

The total volume of oil cargo transportation by Russia's inland waterway exceeded 4.5 million tons in 2010. During the first half of 2011, the volume of oil cargo transportation reached 2.4 million tons.

Palmali is involved in cargo deliveries in the Mediterranean, Caspian, and Black Sea Basins.

Palmali is a general carrier for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
In 2010 Palmali began transporting oil from the commissioned Korchagin transshipment complex in the northern Caspian Sea.
