Iran increased production capacities of its power plants to 63,000 Mega Watt , Mehr News Agency reported quoting Deputy Energy Minister Ali Zabihi as saying.
"The production capacities of country's power plants increased from 38,000 to 63,000 Mega Watt," he said.
He noted the production capacity of dams also increased to 42 billion cubic meters.
By implementation of removal of subsides the rate of power consumption in the country reduced and created good opportunity for export.
Today, Iran exports electricity to Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan and Armenia.
