Rompetrol has increased its sales of petroleum products in Romania, said in an interview to Rompetrol Group CEO Saduakas Meraliyev.

"Although the second wave of crisis, we began to sell more fuel. Record achieved this month - 160 thousand tons per month. Previously, the sales figures do not exceed 147 000 tons per month" - said Meraliyev.

He noted that the expansion of retail network under the logo of Rompetrol in Romania is not at the pace as planned.

Currently, Rompetrol sells on the domestic market of this country 1 million 300 tons of petroleum products, but intends to increase this figure to 1 million 800 tons.

Today Kazakhstan owns 7 depots in Romania, as well as quite an extensive network of gas stations not only in this country, but also in France, Spain, Moldova, Bulgaria and Georgia.

Kazakhstan company "KMG" acquired 100% stake in Rompetrol Group in 2003.
