Turkish private sector intends to import gas from Iran and export it to European countries, SHANA reported quoting Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hossein Bidarmaghz as saying.
"Iran has signed an agreement with a Turkish company to export gas and the negotiating delegation will visit Tehran soon to continue the process," he said.
Bidarmaghz noted Iran's export gas pipeline has more than 5 million cubic meters of gas empty space and Turkish companies seek to use this space to import gas though this pipeline.
Installing the ninth general gas network pipeline with capacity of 110 million cubic meters per day is expected to meet domestic demand and export to Europe through Turkish soil while a Turkish private company wants to be a major operator of project.
