Energy projects partners’ costs under contracts in Azerbaijan hit over $900 mln

In January-September, costs under contracts and purchase orders within projects operated by the British BP Company hit 929 million manat, the company's report on results of nine months says.

In January-September, costs under contracts and purchase orders within projects operated by the British BP Company hit 929 million manat, the company's report on results of nine months says.

According to the report, last year BP's costs under contracts and purchase orders in Azerbaijan amounted to $1.03 billion compared to $982 million in 2009.

In particular, in January-September the cost of contracts for small and medium enterprises (totally 188) amounted to $192 million, state-owned companies (23) - $24 million, joint enterprises with local partners (16) - $324 million. Costs of foreign contractors in the country amounted to $389 million in January-September.

About $3 million was spent on social projects during January-September. In particular, the costs within the project to develop Azerbaijan's offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields amounted to $0.61 million, Shah Deniz - $0.4 million, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi- Erzurum pipelines - $1.36 million. BP has spent $0.63 million within its own social responsibility projects.
