Kazakhstan, Astana, Dec. 14 / Trend K. Konyrova /
The Russian oil company "Lukoil" is interested in buying new oil fields in Kazakhstan, Lukoil Vice-President, Lukoil Overseas head Andrei Kuzyaev told Trend on Wednesday.

"We are looking for new opportunities to buy the existing projects to further increase our oil production in Kazakhstan," Kuzyaev said.

He said that there is a decline in production volumes in Kazakhstan this year.
"Our oil production in Kazakhstan temporarily decreases," he said. "But our production figures are increasing in other world countries."
He said that "Lukoil" plans to stabilize indices in Kazakhstan soon, taking into account the increase in oil production in "Karachganak" and "Tengiz".

Moreover, "Lukoil Overseas (Lukoil's subsidiary) intends to stabilize the oil production on Kazakh projects Kazakhoil - Aktobe and North Buzachi and increase oil production in the field Kumkol by 2.5 times.

"When we started exploring Kumkol, the plans included a million and a half tons of oil," he said. But after introducing new technologies, we have reached the level of three and a half million tons of oil (per year)."
