Worley Parsons - a world leader in Engineering and Project Management Services - was appointed as a new Owner´s Engineer for Nabucco project, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International (NIC) reported on Wednesday.
Worley Parsons will work in close collaboration with NIC and the National Nabucco Companies (NNCs) on the review and verification of design, CAPEX and OPEX review and modelling, management of engineering activities and the design of compressor stations. Another important task of Worley Parsons will be the continuous interaction with the Local Front End Engineering Designs (FEED) Engineers.
Nabucco gas pipeline project is designed to transport gas from the Caspian region and Middle East to the European countries. The gas to be produced during the second stage of Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas condensate field development is considered as the main source for Nabucco.
The total length of the pipeline is 3,900 kilometers with a maximum capacity of 31 billion cubic meters per year. The project's partners include the Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and the German RWE.
Nabucco project is planned to start construction in 2013 and the first supplies will be commissioned in 2017.
