Scientists of the Institute of Geology and the Institute of microbiology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) started joint studies.
The studies aim at reducing harm of drill cuttings emerging as a result of oil and gas well drilling, the press-service of the Institute of geology told Trend on Friday.
Drilling cuttings are considered harmful for environment and human health as well. Studies are conducted under the project aimed at using biotechnologies for the treatment of drill cuttings.
The director of the project organized by the scientific and technological center of Ukraine is Nariman Ismayilov, employee of the Institute of microbiology, and the project co-director is Chingiz Aliyev, representative of the Institute of Geology.
Corresponding members of the ANAS Akbar Feizullayev and Galib Efendiyev also participate in the studies.
