Turkmenistan, possessing huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources, demonstrates the most responsible approach to the development of international energy dialogue, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the last governmental meeting, local media reported on Saturday.

The president added that Turkmenistan is taking concrete steps in establishing reliable options of delivering energy to world markets, which is an essential component of global energy security.

Turkmenistan has the ability to export natural gas to China, Iran and Russia at this stage. The extra pipeline to Russia (Caspian gas pipeline - through Kazakhstan), Europe (Transcaspian gas pipeline - or as part of Nabucco or AGRI - on the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan) and India (Trans-Afghan pipeline via Pakistan) are among the planned gas pipeline from Turkmenistan.

According to the report of British Petroleum (BP), Turkmenistan is on the fourth place by the natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar. The largest fields are located in the Mary region in the east of the country, Southern Yoloten - Osman (recently merged and renamed to Galkynysh) and Yashlar with shared resources, estimated by local geologists and British GCA within 26.2 trillion cubic meters.
