Kazakh Samruk-Energo increased electricity production by 5.6 per cent in 2011 compared to 2010, the company said on Thursday.
Electricity production amounted to 13.4 billion kilowatt-hour, which is 5 per cent more than planned level.
This is caused by increase in use of generating supply, such as Ekibastuz thermal power plant, Almaty electric power stations, Shardary hydro power plant, Zhambyl thermal power plant.
Volume of heat power production amounted to 7.7 million Gcal. Growth compared to plan was 3 per cent, compared to 2010 - 4 per cent, which is connected to increase in thermal load with low temperature of outdoor air during heating period.
Volume of production and sale of coal by Bogatyr Coal amounted to 40 million tons, which is 1 per cent more than the plan. The growth was 3 per cent compared to 2010.
According to preliminary results of work in 2011, income of Samruk-Energo group of companies amounted to 88 billion tenge ($529 million), growth was 9 per cent compared to 2010. Profit amounted to 15.2 billion tenge ($102 million), or 28 per cent more than the plan. The growth was 41 per cent compared to 2010.
Samruk-Energy was created in May 2007 to consolidate state power assets, reconstruct and upgrade existing and construct new generating capacities in Kazakhstan.
