Energy carrier imports to Turkey increased by 41 percent to $54.1 billion in 2011 compared to 2010, the Turkish Institute of Statistics said on Thursday.
Energy carrier imports amounted to 22.5 percent of total imports.
Turkey paid $15.6 billion more for energy carrier imports in 2011 than in 2010.
Turkey has paid $289.9 billion for energy carrier imports over the last 10 years.
Oil imports to Turkey increased by 7 percent to 18.4 million tons in 2011 compared to 2010.
