Kazakh KazMunaiGas to continue Caspian Sea’s hydrocarbon resources development

In 2012, Kazakhstan’s National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas will continue the work on such projects of exploration and production, as the development of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea and implementation of exploration projects on the ground, the company board chairman Lyazzat Kiinov said at the enlarged meeting of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund on Friday.

In 2012, Kazakhstan's National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas will continue the work on such projects of exploration and production, as the development of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea and implementation of exploration projects on the ground, the company board chairman Lyazzat Kiinov said at the enlarged meeting of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund on Friday.

"In 2012 KazMunaiGas will continue to work on such projects of exploration and production, as the development of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea and implementation of exploration projects on the ground, getting 10 percent stake in the Karachaganak project, ensuring oil production at Kashagan, as well as further development of the Tengiz project," Kiinov said.

Also work will be carried out on transportation projects. They include the expansion of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, construction of the "Kazakhstan-China" oil pipeline, construction of Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline. The implementation of projects of reconstruction and upgrading of Kazakh oil refineries, completion of building an asphalt plant at Aktau plastics plant are planned on the oil and gas processing projects.
