Georgian Energy Development Fund completes receiving proposals on hydropower plant

The Energy Development Fund of Georgia will today complete the receipt of tender proposals. As Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend, the winner will prepare a report on environmental impact and social impact for the Fund's project "Machakhela HPP-1" and "Machakhela HPP-2".

The Energy Development Fund plans to build "Machakhela HPP-1" (installed capacity of 20 megawatt) and "Machakhela HPP-2" (installed capacity of 20 megawatt) on the Adzharistskali River in Khelvachauri district of Adjara. According to preliminary calculations, the construction of the plant should be completed in three years. Annual output of both HPPs will hit 240 GWh.
