Agip KCO called to pay for excessive emissions in Kazakhstan

Agip KCO company has been asked to pay 12 million tenge ($80,900) in the budget for excess emission in the environment of the region, environmental prosecutor's office in Atyrau region told Trend on Monday.

Agip KCO company has been asked to pay 12 million tenge ($80,900) in the budget for excess emission in the environment of the region, environmental prosecutor's office in Atyrau region told Trend on Monday.

The entire amount of required tax payments was credited to the state after the submission to the prosecutor's office in February.

Agip Kazakhstan North Caspian Operating (Agip KCO) company performs exploration and appraisal operations in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea as a single operator on behalf of seven international companies' consortium and in accordance with the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement.

The participants of consortium are Eni (Agip KCO), KazMunaiGas (KMG Kashagan), Exxon Mobil Kazakhstan Inc., Shell Kazakhstan Development, Total E & P Kazakhstan, ConocoPhilipps (Philips Petroleum Kazakhstan), Inpex North Caspian Ltd.
