Turkey to build three hydropower plants in Adjara

Turkish company Adjar Energy 2007 will build three hydropower plants in Adjara in 2012, Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend on Monday.

Turkish company Adjar Energy 2007 will build three hydropower plants in Adjara in 2012, Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend on Monday.

According to the report, Turkish company will build Khelvachauri HPP-1, Khelvachauri HPP-2 and Kirnati HPP.

Installed capacity of these hydropower plants will hit 105.67 megawatts. Annual electricity generation will be 495 million kilowatt / hours.
Construction of the HPPs will begin in 2012.

These HPPs are among 15 hydropower plants, construction of which was announced by the Georgian government.
