Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb. 21 / Trend H. Hasanov /
A gas-connection unit designed to supply gas to the 42 kilometre pipeline running from the Garabil to the Gurrukbil fields in the Mary region was commissioned in the Garabil gas-condensate field, the Turkmen Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry said today. Two gas-condensate wells with a daily output of 750,000-800,000 cubic metres each were also commissioned.
The Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk, (Turkmenneftegazstroy) State Concern is developing all eight gas condensate wells drilled in the Garabil field.
Passing through Garabil-Gurrukbil-Dovletabad-2 gas transportation infrastructure, natural gas moves from this promising field into Turkmenistan's general gas export flow. At present it is exported from Dovletabad via the Central Asia-Centre interstate main line to the Russian Federation.
Turkmenistan has increased the commercial development of gas fields in the east and in particular is focusing on new wells and surface infrastructure at the prospective area of Gurrukbil-Garabil.
Gas-condensate multilayer deposits at Gurrukbil, East Gurrukbil and West Garabil, are located along the valley of the Murghab oasis and were opened in 1990.
Their proximity to the largest gas condensate deposits at Dovletabad-Donmez in the north-west and Garabil in the east gives reason to assume the presence of a single zone of accumulation. This opens up good prospects for new gas deposits.
