Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov ordered to accelerate shale gas exploration at large coal deposits in the country at the governmental meeting on Tuesday, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

Massimov said that electricity, energy policies have been changing in many countries since new technologies for shale gas processing have been developed. In particular, gas prices fell by three times in the U.S.

"Who could imagine that the US will cease oil import (resulting from shale gas production), and even become oil exporter?" Massimov said.

Massimov said that the Kazakh government is ready to allocate money for shale gas development to accelerate its production.

"We need some experienced partner for shale gas development," Massimov said.
