Two companies compete for 10 percent stake in Petkim

Two companies, SOCAR and the Turkish plastic producing company Naksan Plastik - will compete for the acquisition of a 10,32 percent stake in the Turkish petrochemical holding Petkim, national privatization authority in Turkey told Trend on Wednesday.

It has been officially stated that the final negotiations for the sale of the stake will be held at 17:00 on Friday.

SOCAR is a major shareholder of the holding, and Naksan Plastik is a major customer of Petkim.

SOCAR Turkey Enerji has a 51 percent stake in the Turkish petrochemical complex, 38,67 percent are in free circulation in the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Previously, SOCAR Turkey CEO Enerji Kenan Yavuz told Reuters that SOCAR has filed an application to the Board of Turkey's Council on Privatization to buy the stake.
