Deputy Minister: Ukraine to give full support to plans of SOCAR

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will be given full support to implement its plans in Ukraine, Deputy Foreign Minister Viktor Maiko told journalists on the results of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian business forum held in Baku.

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will be given full support to implement its plans in Ukraine, Deputy Foreign Minister Viktor Maiko told journalists on the results of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian business forum held in Baku.

"SOCAR has a very ambitious program in Ukraine. It is going to expand the network of filling stations, to invest in oil refining, etc.," Maiko said.

All the necessary conditions will be created for the further operation of SOCAR in Ukraine, Maiko added.

There are more that 10 filling stations under SOCAR brand in Ukraine. It is scheduled to open four more stations in Kiev and two in Kiev region.

The opening of three filling stations in Lvov and four in the Lvov region is planned in the near future.

SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries on its balance sheet) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Ukraine. SOCAR is co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim. The company carries out oil trade in various regions of the world through SOCAR Trading.

SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (the companies producing oil and gas on and offshore), the Azerkimya industrial association (chemical enterprises) and Azerigaz industrial association (gas distribution).
