The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to build a carbamide plant in Georgia, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists on Tuesday.

"The Georgian government has created all necessary conditions to conduct work, in particular an area has been allocated to create free economic zone," Abdullayev said.

He said in the coming months SOCAR will determine the company, which will construct a carbamide plant in Azerbaijan. Work will be launched in parallel in the territory of Georgia.

Plant for carbamide production in Azerbaijan is designed to produce 700,000 tons of carbamide per year, and after meeting the country's needs in this product, part of carbamide will be exported to the Black Sea market. Given the volume of products to be produced in Georgia, SOCAR intends to ensure supply of about one million tons of carbamide to the Black Sea market.

"We intend to enter the Black Sea market, which experiences a need in these products," Abdullayev said.
