Construction of a new complex for oil and gas processing and production of petrochemical products in Azerbaijan will contribute significantly to the development of processing industry in the country, as well as the overall economy, SOCAR main advisor on Oil and Gas Processing and Petrochemicals Complex (OGPC) Filippo Cionci said a forum dedicated to the creation of a new complex for oil and gas processing and production of petrochemical products in Azerbaijan in Baku on Tuesday.
"Implementation of this ambitious project will also expand the range of products for both domestic consumption and export markets," said Cionci.
He said this project will increase the role of Azerbaijan in international arena.
Senior director of Refining Petroleum, Chemicals and Energy Practice of Jacobs Consultancy, Peter Boulter, said SOCAR has every opportunity to succeed in the construction of this complex.
He said this project is an excellent opportunity to expand the use of its oil and gas resources.
Representatives of Air Liquide, DuPont Sustainable Solutions, Linde Engineering and Fluor also made reports at the forum and shared their experiences and opportunities in the field of recycling.
The first day of the forum ended. Holding of bilateral meetings is scheduled for the final day of the forum - April 12.
