Saudi Arabia will increase in April oil production to 10 million barrels per day compared to 9.9 million barrels in March, the Al-Arabiya TV channel quoted the country's Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi as saying on Thursday.

Thus, oil production in the country will reach a record level.

The minister said that Saudi Arabia increased its oil production due to increased demand.

"If there is an additional demand, we are able to increase oil production," said Al-Naimi.

Saudi Arabia is the largest supplier of oil to world markets. The kingdom monthly increases the level of oil production and exports in connection with the termination of supplies from Iran.

The foreign ministers of 27 EU countries approved on January 23 embargo on oil supplies from Iran, accusing Tehran of unwillingness to comply with international requirements and to clarify several issues on the national nuclear program. The new package of sanctions envisages that by July 1 all members of the EU, buying oil from Tehran will have to cut imports from that country.
