Turkey reduces oil imports in February

Turkey has reduced oil imports by five percent in February 2012 compared to the previous month, importing 1.3 million barrels of oil, the report Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) said on Wednesday on the official website of the organization.

During the reporting period, the import of diesel fuel increased by 19.6 percent, compared to the previous month, reaching 613.9 thousand tons.

The export of gasoline from Turkey decreased by 25.1 percent, amounting to 173.6 thousand tons, the export of aviation fuel increased by 21.5 percent, amounting to 167.1 thousand tons, the export of marine fuels rose by 118.7 percent to 309 9 thousand tons.

Production of petroleum products decreased by 21 percent in February in Turkey compared to the previous month, reaching 1.6 million tons.

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel decreased by 3.7 percent, amounting to 769.3 thousand tons during this period.

The average price of gasoline in Turkey increase by 0.92 percent in February, amounting to 4.39 lira. The average price for diesel fuel decreased by 0.26 percent to 3.81 lira.

The official exchange rate on April 18 is 1.7824 TRY/USD.
