The total number of gas stations in Georgia, operating under the brand of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will reach 125 units this year, SOCAR told Trend on Tuesday.
At present, the number of SOCAR gas stations in Georgia is 96 units.
"The construction of new stations continues in order to achieve plans set for this year regarding the number of gas stations," the source said.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum is engaged in the sales of Azerbaijani oil products in Georgia. It started its activity in 2006 and is SOCAR Energy Georgia's wholly-owned subsidiary.
SOCAR has a wide network of gas stations in Georgia. Further are gradually opening under the brand name in Ukraine and Romania. It was also announced recently that SOCAR purchased a network of gas stations in Switzerland.
