Kazakhstan increased coal production by 2.6 percent in January-April 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency. The country produced 40.416 million tons of coal, including coal concentrate in this period.
Black coal and lignite production hit 38.739 million tons, coal concentrate production amounted to 1.678 million tons in the reporting period.
Energy production increased by 5.2 percent to 32.791 billion kWh in January-April. Heat energy production increased by 2.8 percent to 45.730 million Gcal.
