EU countries are ready to share experience and technology in alternative energy and agriculture with Azerbaijan, head of the EU office in Baku Roland Kobia told media today.
A delegation of EU ambassadors led by Kobia has today visited the Gobustan region where they became acquainted with the main directions of agricultural development, particularly livestock and alternative energy in this region.
Kobia said that Azerbaijan has great ambitions in the field of using alternative and renewable energy sources, as well as in the agrarian sphere. The EU is ready to contribute to these developments.
"These areas, as well as other sectors of the Azerbaijani economy are of great interest for the cooperation of the EU countries," he said.
The ambassadors of several EU countries expressed their readiness to expand their cooperation with Azerbaijan and in particular at regional level.
Deputy head of the state agency on alternative energy sources at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy Jamil Melikov, said that the Gobustan region is planned to be turned into a national centre for training and governing alternative energy in the long term prospect. The test site is situated there.
