The volume of gas exports in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.061 billion cubic meters in January-May, 2012, compared to 5.494 billion cubic meters during the same period of 2011, a source at the national dispatching department of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan told Trend.
In May, 2012, gas exports in the country amounted to 1.016 billion cubic meters compared to 997 million cubic meters in May last year. Thus, last month, 2012, exports of gas in the country amounted to 30.7 percent under production of 3.299 billion cubic meters.
Imports of gas in the country in January-May, 2012 amounted to 967 million cubic meters compared to 2.844 billion during the same period of 2011. In May 2012, imports of natural gas in the country amounted to 109 million cubic meters, which is 10.1 percent less than the previous month and 53 percent less than in May, 2011.
