Azerbaijan, Baku, July 12 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

The deadline for submitting the state strategy on alternative energy development till 2020 to the government has been extended to three months in connection with the establishment of the State Company for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources in Azerbaijan, chairman of the Committee on the Elimination of the State Agency for Alternative Energy Jamil Melikov told Trend today.

He said that earlier the variant of the state strategy on alternative energy development was planned to be submitted to the government in July, but now the strategy is planned to be submitted to the country's government till late September this year in connection with the formation of state company.

"This is connected with the need for amending and changing the strategy due to the creation of a state company," Melikov said.

Earlier, the private companies were chosen to implement the projects, but now the state company will implement major state projects in the field of alternative energy.

Touching upon the completed formation of a state company, Melikov stressed that this work is underway to coordinate the company's charter. It can start fully operating by late July.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree creating the state company for alternative and renewable energy sources on June 1.

According to the decree, the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources of Azerbaijan is liquidated and a state company for alternative and renewable energy sources is created on its base.

It is defined that the state company for alternative and renewable energy sources is a state-owned company providing state services in the field of use of alternative and renewable energy sources, as well as determining the sources of renewable energy resources and carrying out other work associated with the development of this area.
