New rules for the provision of technical conditions in the gas sector, as well as rules for the connection of the consumer groups may be approved by the end of the year in Azerbaijan, head of the Office of the State gas monitoring at the Ministry of Industry and Energy Asif Zeynalov told Trend on Thursday.
He noted that these documents are under consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The new rules that expand the field of activity of management, may be taken before the end of 2012," Zeynalov said.
The rules are aimed at ensuring the interests of consumers in the gas sector. They also allow consumers to contact the administration to deal with cases of refusing to make a connection by the gas operator of the country, the production association Azerigas of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Last year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved new rules for use of gas in Azerbaijan.
