Azerbaijan, Baku, July 19 / Trend E. Ismayilov /
The gas volume in Azerbaijani underground storage facilities following the injection season may reach 3.5-3.7 billion cubic meters, a SOCAR source told Trend today. Storage facilities are on SOCAR's balance.
There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.
According to the forecasts, the volume of gas in underground storage facilities following injection season will be at a last year level, a source said.
Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped following injection season in 2011 compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters of the previous year.
"But depending on the volume of gas supplied for injection, this figure could be brought to 3.5-3.7 billion cubic meters," a source said.
SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev earlier said that the record indices on gas volumes injected into underground storage facilities are planned to be obtained this year.
The volume today exceeds 2 billion cubic meters.
