Gas from other fields in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea may be an additional resource base for the Southern Gas Corridor, financial services head of BP's transportation department Ernesto Daza said at the sixth Caspian Oil and Gas Trading and Transportation Conference in Baku today.
"At present our partners are developing the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and negotiating the development of deep-lying gas in the block," Daza said.
The terms of the gas development may fall to 2020 which is the same period of development of the new Absheron field. Its opening was announced in 2011.
Daza said that the Absheron field also has significant reserves and great prospects.
He said that gas from the above-mentioned fields may be additional raw materials for the Southern Gas Corridor.
