Volume of gas in underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan exceeded 3 billion cubic meters

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) pumped about 1.96 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan since the beginning of gas pumping season, a source in SOCAR told Trend. Another 1.18 billion cubic meters of gas remained at underground gas storage facilities from last season.

There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.

The source noted that 1.17 billion cubic meters the total volume of injected gas accounted for Garadagh, and 785.22 million cubic meters for Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.

Currently the volume of gas in underground storage facilities of the country is more than 3.14 billion cubic meters. Approximately 1.76 billion cubic meters of this volume accounts for Garadagh, and 1.38 billion cubic meters - for Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.

Daily volume of gas injected into underground storage facilities is 2.76 million cubic meters.

Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped at the end of injection season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.
