Kazakh Aktau Port transships oil cargo transshipment in 2012

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port transhipped 7.6 million tons of oil cargo in 2012 compared to 8.03 million tons in 2011, the Port's website reported on Friday.

Some oil transhipped through the Aktau Port is transported to Baku, from where it is supplied to the Black Sea Port of Georgia via railway.

In particular, in 2012, 1.4 million tons of the total amounts of handled cargo accounted for hardware, 936,000 tons ferry cargo, 644,000 tons of grain and 381,000 tons - other goods.

More than 4.07 million tons of dry goods were handled in 2011 compared to about 3.25 million tons in 2010. In particular, the port transhipped 2.01 million tons of hardware, 1.43 million tons of ferry cargo, 303,000 tons of grain and 322,000 tons of other cargo.

In total in 2012 the port handled 10.95 million tons of cargo, which is 5.3 percent more than the forecasted.

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port has transhipped a total of 12.1 million tons of oil and dry cargo in 2011 compared to more than 12.8 million tons in 2010.
In 2012, Aktau port received 1,855 ships.
