Oil and gas prices drop in Kazakhstan in Jan. 2013

Prices in Kazakhstan's mining industry dropped 0.5 per cent in January 2013 compared to December 2012, while manufacturing industry prices fell by 0.3 per cent, the Kazakh Agency for Statistics reported.

According to the agency, prices for manufactured products fell by 0.5 per cent, whereas prices for production services went up by 3.4 per cent.

Last month, a decrease in prices was observed of four per cent for liquefied propane and butane, 2.9 per cent for kerosene, 1.2 per cent for oil and 0.5 per cent for natural gas. Price increases were observed rising by seven per cent for metallic ores, 3.1 per cent for coal, 0.8 per cent for fuel oil and 0.6 per cent for gasoline.

Copper prices declined by 5.5 per cent this month, prices for precious metals by 2.7 per cent, ferrous metals and ferroalloys by 1.4 per cent, whereas raw aluminium prices rose by 8.8 per cent.
