Turkey ups oil imports in 2012

Oil imports into Turkey in December 2012 decreased by 11 percent compared to the previous month and reached 1.52 million tons, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) said in its report on Thursday.

In total, Turkey imported 19.4 million tons of oil in 2012 which is seven percent more than in 2011.
Import of diesel fuel decreased by 17.6 percent in December and amounted to 606,000 tons. In 2012 diesel fuel import increased by 3.6 percent compared to 2011 and amounted to 8.51 million tons.

Export of gasoline from Turkey declined by 14 percent and amounted to 198,000 tons. Aviation fuel export decreased by 31.6 per cent and amounted to 176.300 tons, while marine fuel exports grew by 26.9 percent and amounted to 190.200 tons.

In 2012 export of gasoline increased by 8.8 percent compared to 2011 and amounted to 2.62 million tons. Export of aviation fuel during the year increased by 16.8 percent and amounted to 2.60 million tons, export of marine fuel increased by 59 percent reaching 2.12 million tons.
