LUKOIL Uzbekistan, a subsidiary of the Russian company Lukoil, has announced a tender for conducting a seismic survey in the licensed areas of Southwest Gissar in Uzbekistan, the company said.
The tender is for a 3D seismic survey in the Pachkamar, Amanat and Koshkuduk fields of the Gissar investment block.
Under the terms of the tender, applicants must have an average annual volume of work no less than 500 square kilometers. Work parameters are not disclosed within the announced tender.
Proposals will be accepted until March 19 and the results will be announced during the second quarter of this year.
LUKOIL is currently working in Uzbekistan on three PSA projects -Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad and the development of the Southwest Gissar fields. It also conducts exploration of the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea within international agreements.
As previously reported, LUKOIL joined the Southwestern Gissar project in Uzbekistan in 2008.
In March 2008, LUKOIL Overseas, a subsidiary of Lukoil, concluded a $580 million deal on the purchase of SNG Holding Ltd., including Souyuzneftegaz Vostok Limited, a participant of PSA on development of fields in Southwest Gissar and Ustyurt regions of Uzbekistan. Uzbekneftegaz is an authorized state agency in the PSA as a second party.
The PSA was signed on January 23, 2007, for a term of 36 years and entered into force on April 23, 2007. Uzbekistan's share in production sharing ranges from 55 to 80 percent depending on the profitability of the project.
There are seven fields in the Southwest Gissar (Kashkadarinskaya region) - the gas condensate fields Jarkuduk-Yangi, Gambulak, Amanata, Pachkamar and Adamtash and the oil and gas condensate fields South Kizilbayrak and the oil field Koshkuduk.
Capital expenses are estimated at $1.196 billion.
Plans exist to build a selection plant for gas condensation and dehydration in the contract area of Southwest Gissar. The main part of the plant will be the facility dedicated to prepare gas at its preliminary stage. This facility will have a capacity of 4.2 billion cubic meters.
Field reserves in Gissar are estimated at 82.3 billion cubic meters; the maximum amount of production during the period of constant selection is expected to reach more than 4.2 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
In general, LUKOIL plans to invest about $5 billion in the implementation of gas projects in Uzbekistan by 2017 against the present $2 billion. LUKOIL plans to produce 18 billion cubic meters of gas in Uzbekistan.
