It is planned to establish an Institute of Energy and Energy Efficiency in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Isekeshev told Trend on Tuesday.

"Our ministry completes working over establishing a new institute namely the Institute of Energy and Energy Efficiency, which must get the official status in the latter part of this year," Issekeshev said.

He added that a new institute is being established on the basis of an earlier existing Kazakh energy expertise company.

"Today, there is a group of professionals, engineers and scholars who were able to establish contacts with the leading organisations of Japan, Germany, France, Korea, to examine their experience in creating an internal energy market," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

He explained that the establishment of such an institute has been brought about by the grandiose plans and objectives pursued by the Republic and reflected in the State Programme of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development.

"Special attention is paid to creating the relevant infrastructure which includes the development of the energy sector within the State Programme of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development," he said. "This sector should be developed in advance. We also need accurate calculations."
