The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has confirmed it undertook a financial audit of the gas distribution company KazTransGas - Tbilisi.
According to the service, at this stage the Ministry of Finance cannot provide information on the reasons for the audit.
Meanwhile, two days ago the Investigative Service categorically denied beginning an investigation over KazTransGas - Tbilisi and stated the company is working normally.
Currently, the company is managed by a temporary Georgian administrative department as the company has accumulated 80 million lari (1.66 lari = 1 dollar) of debt to the budget.
Earlier, Minister of Energy of Georgia Kakha Kaladze offered to pay the debt of Kazakh company at the expense of repayment of the public debt of Georgia to Kazakhstan amounting to $100 million.
