Iraq increases oil exports in March 2013

In March 2013 Iraq increased oil exports up to 74.9 million barrels compared to 71.2 million barrels in February, Iraqi Oil Ministry spokesman Asym Jihad told Trend.

In March 2013 Iraq increased oil exports up to 74.9 million barrels compared to 71.2 million barrels in February, Iraqi Oil Ministry spokesman Asym Jihad told Trend.

According to Jihad, in March, Iraq exported on average 2.4 million barrels of oil per day.
Iraq's incomes from oil exports in March 2013 amounted to $7.7 billion compared to $7.6 billion in February. According to Jihad, the average oil price in March was $103.7 per barrel.

Average oil production in Iraq totalled 3.2 million barrels per day in March 2013.

Earlier Jihad told Trend that Iraq increased its explored oil reserves by 10 billion barrels thanks to international tenders organised in the country for the exploration and development of new hydrocarbon fields.

Based on the research, it was found that the proven oil reserves in Iraq constitute 150 billion barrels, Jihad said.

The main oil fields in Iraq are in the south of the country. They are Rumaila, Zubair, Nahr Umr, Majnun and West Qurna. At least 80 per cent of the oil produced in Iraq is exported.
