During the first quarter of 2013, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) spent over $13 million in capital expenditures. For the full year BTC capital expenditures are expected to be $97 million, BP's official report on the activity in Azerbaijan n Jan.-March said today.
Since 4 June 2006 up to the end of the first quarter of 2013, 2,140 tankers were loaded at Ceyhan with a total of about 1,648 million barrels (220 million tons) of crude oil transported via BTC and sent to world markets.
During the first quarter of 2013, BTC exported 59.6 million barrels (7.9 million tons) of crude oil loaded on 79 tankers at Ceyhan.
The BТС's total length is 1,768 kilometers including a 443-kilometre section running via Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometre section traversing Georgia and a 1076-kilometre section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began in April 2003. The first oil was marketed on May 18, 2005.
The shareholders of BTC are BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.90 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), TRAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.40 percent), Inpex (2.50 percent), Conoco Philips (2.50 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
