Azerbaijan will become even more important for European energy security after the Shah Deniz consortium makes final decision, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar told journalists in Baku on Thursday.
"Azerbaijani gas gaps the Europe," he said. "Beyond opening a new pipeline, Azerbaijani gas will become more important for European energy supplies, nevertheless 10 bcm of gas are very important as alternative resources for Europe and there will be more gas in 2020."
"There are other projects," he added. "They will be much more Azerbaijani gas. Hopefully it will be also Turkmen gas. So, there will be significant amount of gas coming from Caspian region."
