Turkey decreases petroleum production and consumption

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkey in April, 2013 grew by 2.8 per cent compared to the previous month and amounted to 1.031 tons, a report of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) released on Wednesday says.

Production of petroleum products during the reporting period grew by 0.4 per cent and amounted to 1.8 million tons.

In January - April 2013, the production of petroleum products reduced by 7 per cent compared to the same period of 2012, and amounted to 6.1 million tons.

Gasoline consumption in Turkey in April 2013 reduced by 3.6 per cent compared to March, amounting to 157,600 tons. Diesel fuel consumption in April fell by 2.1 per cent and amounted to 1.38 million tons.

Year on year, gasoline consumption grew by 5 per cent, and of diesel fuel - by 11.8 per cent.

The average price of gasoline in Turkey in April increased by 1.5 per cent compared to the previous month reaching 4.64 lira per liter. The price of diesel fuel increased by 2.6 per cent and amounted to 4.08 lira per liter.

The official exchange rate for April 19 is 1.8758 TRY / USD.
